Dr. Christine Alvarado's 20-year poultry science career has included experience in academia, industry and government as a subject matter expert for USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service in Washington DC. She is currently a Senior Food Scientist for Prosur.
Dr. Alvarado’s national and international poultry experience primarily focuses on improving meat quality, food safety and process efficiency for poultry and egg processors. She has also conducted several poultry industry courses to educate new employees in the poultry industry. She is a Novus International Teaching award recipient.
Her passions are education and agriculture literacy, hiking, and keeping up with her active family.
Dr. Alvarado earned her B.S. in Biomedical Science (1993) and MS and Ph.D. (2001) in Food Science from Texas A&M University.
